The
Texas Hip & Knee Center is
an orthopaedic practice specializing in the diagnosis and treatment
of the hip and knee. The primary focus of the practice involves
joint replacement and revision joint replacement surgery for
a wide variety of arthritic conditions. Founded by Dr. Robert
Schmidt in 1989, the group's first expansion was in 1992, when
Dr. Ajai Cadambi joined the practice. The next expansion came
in 2001 with the addition of Dr. Theodore Crofford, who had been
in private practice in Sherman, Texas and Dr. Steven Weeden,
who had completed an Adult Reconstructive Fellowship in Chicago,
Illinois. And in January of 2006 Dr. Jeffrey L. McGowen,
MD joined the practice after completing an Adult Joint
Reconstructive Fellowship at Texas Hip & Knee Center.
Dr.
Schmidt, Dr. Cadambi, Dr. Crofford, and Dr. Weeden are Board Certified
by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons; and Dr. McGowen
is Board Eligible by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. All
physicians have received sub-specialty fellowship training in arthritic
surgery and joint reconstructive surgery. Physicians
specialize in adult reconstructive surgery, arthritis surgery of
the hip and knee, and arthroscopic treatment of knee disorders
and injuries. In addition, they utilize a wide variety of nonoperative
treatments including oral medications, injections, and physical
therapy to avoid surgical intervention or to supplement surgical
outcomes whenever possible.
